Ministry of Germany Invites Suncast to Accelerate Energy Transition

The Chilean startup began a double commercial tour Germany 2023, after receiving two awards in the area of renewable energies: Energy Challenge and Fit for Partnership with Germany.

Suncast took part in important business meetings with companies such as Google Cloud, Goldbeck Solar, SIEMENS Energy, in an effort to contribute to the development of bilateral relations between the two countries. New training opportunities will soon be available to reinforce its business area.

The company was invited by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action (BMWK) to participate in a series of activities within the framework of a bilateral program aimed at accelerating economic relations.

The first stage of the mission was organized by the Chilean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Chile), in cooperation with the Bayern State Representation for South America and with the support of GIZ within the framework of the Chile-Germany Energy Partnership.

After the arrival of Suncast's CTO in Germany, the mission started with Suncast's first pitch in the European Union, in the framework of the Bitz & Pretzels festival, one of the most massive meetings in Germany in innovation, entrepreneurship and technology.

Annika Schüttler, Project Leader Energy & Sustainability at AHK Chile, spoke about the presentation and the company's relationship in Germany: “Suncast was presented in a way that made its business model appealing to the German market and subsequently had an opportunity to meet with potential end clients, from which several learnings were gained, by first understanding how the European electricity market works in the country."

"We had the opportunity to pitch our services to various companies in the German industry, such as: Google Cloud, Goldbeck Solar, SIEMENS Energy, Anumar, JUWI and EY," said Pedro Correa, Suncast's CTO.

Finally, the CEO and founder of the company, Constanza Levicán, emphasized the strengths of the European country in the energy market: "Germany is a pioneer in the energy transition, one of Europe's leading countries in terms of installed solar and wind power capacity with one of the most modern electricity markets in the world, where there are business models that will reach other countries several years later. Therefore, this is an excellent point in terms of energy transition and new business."

Second stage: Fit for Partnership with Germany

Suncast was also one of the winners of the "Fit for Partnership with Germany" program of the German Ministry BMWK and MINECON, organized by GIZ and the Production Development Corporation (CORFO), so Suncast's CTO will initiate on October 23, 2023 the second stage of this trade mission, consisting of the specialized two-week "BMWK Manager Training Programme" developed at the Conoscope GmbH centre in Leipzig, Germany, until November 3 of this year.

The company will soon meet in its second stage of its commercial tour with companies and potential technological allies such as Amazon, in its Berlin office, and the CoSES Microgrid Laboratory of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), thus continuing the portfolio presentation of its services to the European market.

The Fit for Partnership with Germany is a program that aims to accelerate bilateral and economic relations between the two countries.
