Developed 100% in Chile after seven years of investigation, the tool integrates forecasts, national and international market data, and real-time operation, facilitating the entry of more renewable energies into the system.
Clean energy needs accuracy. To respond to the challenge, Suncast presents Nexor, a software designed 100% in Chile, which integrates meteorological, market, and real-time operational data, offering accurate forecasts that impulse a cleaner and more efficient electrical system. The company’s new software has a real-time data bridge connecting with international electrical system operators with: CEN of Chile, XM of Colombia, CENACE of Mexico, REE of Spain, and RTE of France.
The launch of Nexor gathered experts and important authorities of the energy sector, such as Marta Cabezas, Superintendent of Electricity and Combustible Fuels, and Jesús Agüero, Seremi of Energy of the Metropolitan Region, who knew how Suncast’s IA, particularly their machine learning models, provide high-accuracy forecasts for renewable energy generation.

“With the new platform, our clients will have access to a more complete and connected view of the operation, allowing the optimization of real-time decision-making”, explained Suncast’s Chief of Technology, Pedro Correa, who also emphasized that Nexor has a key differentiator: “Its capacity to integrate multiple relevant information sources in one place”.
With seven years of research work with backup and direct feedback from clients at Suncast, Nexor promises to respond to the electrical sector’s necessities. “The forecasts provided by Nexor reduce the use of fossil fuels and enable more stable operation, which allows more clean energy to enter the system without compromising the network security”, explained the CEO and founder of Suncast, Constanza Levicán.
In terms of functionality and accessibility, Correa stated that this will be a new tool for users, who will be able to directly enter maintenance events, partial or total failures, and power plant limitations into the web platform, or automate this registration through API integrations.
Along these lines, Marta Cabezas, Superintendent of Electricity and Combustible Fuels, said: “What we have seen today is innovation that challenges us and invites us to look at the future of energy management. Having robust information in the shortest amount of time, with data science at the service of decision-making, is the way towards a more efficient, secure, and resilient system”.
On the other hand, Jesús Agüero, Seremi of Energy of the Metropolitan Region, made a call to innovation: “The energy sector must invest in new technologies and young talent, which bring different ideas and visions of the future. That is the path for Chile to remain as a leader in energy transition and resource efficiency”.
The institutional voices were accompanied by the client’s perspective. Edgardo Ramírez, Head of Engie’s Renewable Energy Control Center, explained what Nexor can contribute: “We hope this platform will help us to provide better generation forecasts for the Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional, which will have an impact on the entire industry. A good forecast allows for more optimal and efficient scheduling for the following day. For us, working with a Chilean technology partner such as Suncast has meant a much closer, direct, and strategic relationship, which has provided us with aligned solutions to the local challenges of the sector”.
“Suncast is an example that in our country we can create Chilean technology that can compete at an international level”, concluded Levicán.
