Since 2017, Suncast has contributed to incorporating renewable energy into the national energy matrix. The company currently provides services to solar and wind power plants strategically located across eight key regions of the country.
Forbes listed Suncast as one of Chile’s top 100 startups for three consecutive years, recently overcoming 3,000 megawatts (MW) with the delivery of its services to two strategic energy generation poles: 1,458 MW of solar energy and 1,575 MW of wind power generation. This tripled its scope compared to May 2022.
The company that applies artificial intelligence to renewable energies has shown an exponential rise, thanks to its team's expertise. Their client portfolio currently includes more than 10 of the biggest Chilean energy-generating companies. It provides its services to eight regions of the country: Antofagasta, Atacama, Coquimbo, Metropolitana, O’Higgins, Maule, Bío Bío and Los Lagos.
“We have had a steady and methodical growth at Suncast. We have been able to consolidate our forecasting service focused on utility-scale power plants, for both solar and wind power plants, achieving a relevant position in the ecosystem of the companies that provide services in the renewable energies' industry.”, says Constanza Levicán, CEO and Founder of Suncast.
With Suncast’s Forecasting Service, renewable generation companies can request the Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional (CEN) to send their forecasts to Suncast, allowing them to focus on generating electricity and operating their assets. A tool that stands out as an added value within the company’s portfolio.
“We celebrate this milestone of reaching 3,000 MW, taking a big step with this new accomplishment. We are proving that Chile can innovate and develop competitive technology at a global level.”, stated Pedro Correa, Suncast’s CTO.
