New forecasting requirements for wind Coordinados

At Suncast, we are committed to the sustainability and digitization of the energy sector. For this reason, we have already complied with the new regulations of the Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional (CEN) regarding the “Portal de Pronósticos”.

Letter DE 03672-24, dated July 18th, 2024, stated August 2nd as the deadline for implementing wind power plants. This change is an important step toward the digitization of the electric market. Forecasts must now be officially submitted via API, maintaining the same forecast types and submission schedules per the 2019 Security and Quality of Service Technical Standard.

Anticipation now allows us to be at the forefront by modernizing the reception and management of large volumes of data. This process is an essential part of handling the increasing incorporation of variable renewable energies, thus maintaining a safe and efficient operation of our electrical system.

Starting January of this year, we began the development of these new technological requirements following the release of the documents for the Nuevo Portal de Pronósticos. Later in April, we contacted our clients to collect the necessary authorizations and to start sending forecasts through both methods: API and SFTP.

Therefore, we have anticipated this transition for our customers and their power plants. Additionally, we are now able to implement what is required for new customers in an expedited manner, and we are prepared to provide any support needed during its implementation.

Our commitment to innovation and sustainability encourages us to continue supporting our customers in transitioning to higher technological standards. We believe in a cleaner and more efficient energy future, and are proud to actively contribute towards achieving it.
